I am interested in your carrier, where are you located? Where you happy with it and is it quite universal?
Thanks!

Bozena ZdaniukI hesitate supporting another freeze dry meal company until I see an effort put towards providing meals in biodegradable or at least easily recyclable packaging. Most packaging currently on the market is made from a mixture of materials that is practically not recyclable, let alone biodegradable. Nothing on their website discusses that issue.
cheers,
bozena
Peter CurtainHello,
Heads up regarding an interesting talk this coming Wednesday…I am a member of both JPC and SKABC,
Pete Curtain
Hi paddlers!
I am excited to announce we will be hosting a presentation by Frank Wolf on November 21 at Jericho! Frank is a Canadian adventurer, film maker, author, photographer, environmentalist, and public speaker. For more than 20 years he has been adventuring, on self-propelled expeditions focusing mostly on the Canadian wilderness, such as an 8000 km canoe journey across Canada, to rowing the Northwest Passage, a ski traverse of Baffin Island, and cycling 2000 km of the Yukon River in the winter. He was named one of Canada’s Top Ten Adventurers by Explore Magazine, named One of Canada’s Top 100 Explorers by Canadian Geographic Magazine, and did a TEDx talk on Adventuring for the Good of the Planet.
You won’t want to miss Frank’s presentation of his expedition ‘Maskwa Nanook’, an 1800 km, 44 day journey by canoe from Saskatchewan to Nunavut.
Tickets are $15 in advance, you can buy them online here:
Tickets $20 at the door. Refreshments will be available and Frank will be selling copies of his new book “Lines on a Map” as well.

Chris DennisI have got to know Penny deWaal of Fatchilli Farm near Cowichan Bay and have tasted their freeze dried food which is very, very good.
Penny and Shani, her chef husband want to expand and have a crowd-funding program in place – launched today – to bridge funding to increase their drying capacity and take their product range to the broader market like MEC and other outdoor outlets.
For $96 contribution, you get a 40% discount on the retail price of $160. With math wizardry, this equates to $96. You will nearly be set up for your 2019 multi-day trips with great food and knowledge you are helping local people build a solid business. Here is the link for you to explore: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/449963377/west-coast-kitchen-gourmet-freeze-dried-meals-and?ref=ksr_email_creator_launch
Go well over Christmas, Chris
Nancy MoreI have a last minute trip to New Zealand in December and would like to get a few days of paddling in. I am not organized enough to bring all my gear and I will be travelling alone. Does anyone have any experience with places and /or outfitters that they would recommend for a short trip?
Thanks for anything you can offer. Cheers, Nancy
Nancy MoreI have used Warren at ATD (Attention to Detail) http://www.atdcomposites.com/index.html
He does good work but is sometimes hard to get hold of.
AdminThanks Nicola, we’ll be there. We’re coordinating with Chantal so there will be three of us carpooling.
Sarka LhotakHi Bob, unfortunately Coast Outdoors will not do it, their technician Robert has left for Quebec and they have nobody else.
Bob MerawCoast Outdoors 352 Lynn Ave, North Vancouver, I believe that it is a division of Deep Cove Kayaks 604-987-2202. I need to take my rowing scull in for repair. https://www.deepcovekayak.com I may try the redneck repair as that is closer.
Robert KulkaHello Sarka, I can give you a few references, have done a fair amount of kayak repairs myself. Give me a call or email (robert.kulka@gmx.net) if you wish, though I am in Montreal right now, therefore 3 hrs ahead of BC. My cell is 604.619.9402. Robert
