    You didn’t go wrong. There was a  gathering planned, but the person responsible didn’t show and didn’t tell anyone and hasn’t bothered to respond to your query. Shame.

    On behalf of the club exec, I apologize.

    Was there a gathering tonight?  Several (6) of us found each other looking for the group and found no such thing – we made our own picnic, but wondered how we went wrong.  We were near the parking lot by Locarno Beach.

    Eva and I enrolled in the strokes course on July 24th, and asked for training in how to effectivly use Greenland paddles, unfortunatly we only have one Greenland paddle between us!

    I have Weirner Ikos bent shaft paddle that I would be willing to swap for the day, if anyone wants to try out moveing alot of water and has a GP stick hanging out?

    We are short of volunteers for this very worthwhile cause. Please consider joining us on Saturday 9 July. Volunteers will simply accompany the bigs&littles who will be paddling doubles. No instruction is given, just a fun 2 hour paddle in beautiful Indian Arm (3 shifts 9.00am, noon and 3.00pm). Please contact me at benzon@telus.net if you can help, or 778-712-1035 if you would like more information

    Nick, Mick and I were out driving around Sechelt yesterday, groundproofing for BC Marine Trails.

    I’ve got some pictures from the day, along with a short write up, on my blog:

    Hello Heather;

    Thank-you for your response.  I would be interested in your thoughts on the trip and potential campsites.  I purchased The Wild Coast series of books several years ago and was using that as my main source trip/campsite information.

    I would be interested in touching base with Don Griffiths if you can arrange this.

    Have a good day.

    Just in case you haven’t heard, the Bowen trip originally planned for this Sat June 11 has been postponed to July or August.

    The ‘Round Bowen Challenge is on Sat June 25  www.bowenislandkayaking.com

    Hopefully see some SKABC paddlers on the 25th!  (Great practice for your forward stroke.)

    Cheers, Peter

    Hi,

    I haven’t circumnavigated it but but I’ve launched from Klemtu and paddled north and then west through the passage between Swindle and Princess Royal. I can tell you the launch/camping details of that area if it’s helpful. I do know that Don Griffiths, a long time (former) member, did it some years ago. I think I still have his contact information. I could try to put the two of you together if you’d like.

    Cheers,

    Heather.

    Hello;

    Some day I would like to circumnavigate Princess Royal Island.   If any members of the SKABC have paddled this area, would they be willing to share their experiences?

    I can be reached at peter.bruton@canada.ca or reply to this post.

    Solo touring NW Discover kayak for sale. This is an older fiberglass boat that is in very good condition and has been well cared for.
    This kayak is very fast and maneuverable and has large cargo carrying capacity. Best suited for intermediate to advanced paddler and is a lot of fun to paddle. It can carry a huge load on a long trip but does not feel like a tank if you are taking it out for a day paddle.

    fiberglass

    17’11” long
    59 lb
    Feather craft rudder
    400 lb carrying capacity
    All new deck lines and bungies
    Comes with spray skirt and cockpit cover

    The hull is in excellent shape. Some minor staining on the deck. Has always been stored under cover or indoors.

    Thinking of taking a short 2-3 day overnighter to Twin Islands next week- could leave Wednesday- stay over and paddle to end of Indian Arm and back to Twin Islands Thursday, leave at leisure Friday. Would be nice to have at least one other person along. See me at the meeting Tuesday if interested. Can also email me at mollymarie8718@gmail.com
