Kayak Experiences in New Zealand?

    I have a last minute trip to New Zealand in December and would like to get a few days of paddling in.  I am not organized enough to bring all my gear and I will be travelling alone.  Does anyone have any experience with places and /or outfitters that they would recommend for a short trip?
