What a strange question some may say but i wanted to get other people’s views on that matter. Sure our opinions maybe skew just by asking a forum such as this but still curious.
As a critical care nurse my view of the world is often bias i see what can go wromg on a regular basis even things can happen not often. Meaning even something that could happen to only 1 % of the populations would be a larger numbers of visit to the ER as they would ALL come there.
as i’m reading recently excellent books call “ deep troubles” on kayak incident, my awareness of what can go wrong is increase. But at the same time, a lots of youtube videos of people going alone on the coast on long trips with very little impact on them.
That’s where my questions come: on that continuum of doing all the course, reading and buying safety gears on one side and on the other someone leaving for Vancouver/Alaska solo with very little research and google maps as navigation ( yep that was a real video 😉). Where is the Goldilocks level?? Where should people come in, the threshold to go kayak with them or not? 😊

Last season, I seemed to have lost/misplaced my four piece bracket set that I used to transport extra kayaks. It was in a green plastic bag with two blue Thule Straps are used to tie a kayak, and thin blue bow/stern ties as well.I have no idea where I left them, but I’m guessing it was at a paddle somewhere. If you found a set of brackets similar to the ones in the link below, I would appreciate if you let me know.
Thank you
Anna

Mark RiserHey everyone!
My Trak 2.0 kayak just arrived and I’ve put it together for the first
time. Nice!I’m hoping to join for some kayaking tomorrow. I’m working out at Deep
Cove Kayak as an instructor / guide all summer, and have to be back for
work at 4pm.I was hoping to get out to join one of the trips tomorrow.
I still don’t have a paddle of my own or marine radio. Does anyone have
a loaner- or is anyone selling theirs? I already put down so much cash
into this kayak that cash is tight!Anyway, please give me a call if you’re going and you have any ideas of
how I can join. I know this is last minute, but I really didn’t expect
to be ready to go kayaking until FedEx dropped off my Trak a few hours
ago!!!Awesome!
Look forward to being on the water with you all soon.
Thanks,
Mark Riser

Daniel Del VecchioKen HullettHey all,
Thought I’d introduce this topic again if people are starting to think about it more. Anyone looking for or offering rides should post here.
I have my kayak stored at Burrard Marina and would appreciate a ride to either Cates Park or Deep Cove. I’m signed up for the Cates-Twin Island trip but am open to switching.
Thanks!
