Mercia was perhaps the reason I joined SKABC and became an avid kayaker. The Coast Kayak Symposium was one of the most fun events I’ve been to and really made me want to be part of that community. Of course there was much learning there too!

The obituary says Aug 16 but this post says Aug 13. Kevin, do we know which is the correct date?

For those who don’t know, skabc has perimeter line at a discounted price of $1.50 per ft. and plastic tubing at a discounted price of 75¢/foot

I will bring these to the picnic if you would like to purchase some.

I will also have the skabc reflective decals to give away.

This is our first combination picnic and paddle on a weekend. We forgot about the fireworks so for the late nighters, it is an extra bonus. Do come along and enjoy.

    🙂

Blue Dog Kayaking on the Island often sells their used demo/rental NDKs at a discount. For example: https://www.bluedogretail.com/shop/p/explorer-1.

Hi.  We’re looking for a used kevlar or carbon fibre double.  Our trusty old Seaward Gemini is getting too heavy at 90 lbs!

If you have or know of one, please let me know.  Thanks, Helen

Looking for used NDK Explorer or Romany, Valley Etain 17.5 or 17.7, P&H Cetus MV or HV, or Tiderace Xplore M or L to try and buy. I’m 174cm (5’7″). Have been paddling a fibreglass Valley Nordkapp HM for 20 years, but the ocean cockpit has become too small for me now (funny how they shrink!) and I need something a bit wider and keyhole shape for safe wet exit and reentry. The Nordkapp cockpit is 15″ x 19.5″ and 11″ high (for comparison).

Any leads welcome. Thanks! – Annette

    SKABC PICNIC IS THIS SATURDAY!!

All details are on the website.

We still have space on the 2 paddles and lots of room for the potluck picnic. Go to the calendar or events page and log in to sign up.

Reminder that it is fireworks night so if you come for just the picnic parking may be harder to find and traffic may be heavy.

We hope to see you there!

    Nice videos Jenny!

A few of us are also located on the North Shore myself included. Happy to introduce you to the Howe Sound if you have not been already.

Always keen to work on my rolling skills.

To be more specific, I am interested in finding someone to do calm water paddling near north vancouver or rolling practice during weekday evenings. I am particularly interested in improving my rolling skills, like practice hand roll, back deck roll or storm roll.
