Rob McIntyreLong time listener, first time poster…
I am planning a 6 day trip in mid June from Telegraph Cove and have a ton of questions.
Are there any must see’s, great camping spots, best places to see bioluminescence… or places best avoided? Unmarked dangers? Best marine radio channels to monitor for whale watching tips? I understand water is hard to come by… is that true? Cultural sites not to be missed or places we should respectfully avoid?Im leaning toward a one way with a barge return – thoughts?
Are there any great reference books? My searching has not been very fruitful.
I have the BC Marine trail map, which has some good info on camping, but nothing beats first hand accounts.Has anyone done a trip there in the last few years that cares to share some insights?
The charts are laid out and the origami has begun 🙂
Thanks in advance for any advice! Rob

Susan MurraySeaward Legend- Red- KEVLAR kayak- $3,900- like new!
Contact Susan Murray or Gerry Lamb, 604 530-9679
The Legend handles beautifully in wild conditions and surfs with precision in following seas. The hull provides a comfortable degree of initial stability, while the chines offer substantial secondary stability that can be used to the paddler’s advantage to confidently tilt or edge the Legend to enhance its turning performance.
The clipper bow and secondary levels of buoyancy in the hull make the Legend a dry boat to paddle, while the clean deck layout, with everything from hatches to safety line anchor points and compass being recessed, minimizes spray. The cockpit is roomy inside for leg and foot comfort, with a comfortable seat. The Legend has expedition carrying capacity, and is easy to load through the standard configuration of two large oval hatches, with a separate round offset hatch to one side behind the paddler accessing a sealed “day-hatch”.

John DrentThis is a boat I no longer paddle as it is just too much effort trying to squeeze my size into the cockpit. I do really like the hull design as a fast low profile boat that holds a decent amount of gear but it is better suited to a person of medium to small build. This would be considered a straight line boat good for day trips or tripping. Tracks well, has decent speed, turns reasonably well but is definitely not a surfing/ boulder garden type boat. The arluk 3 was the top selling boat back when they were in production. It’s an older boat in decent condition and everything works. I considered keeping it as a long term rental, but here is a better deal: I’ll sell it for $1,000. You use it for a season and keep it if you like it. But if you decide to move on to another boat, or can’t store it, I’ll offer to buy it back for half price . So your choice whether it becomes a keeper or a rental. email me at jtrdrent@telus.net.

Comes with a fiberglass Werner paddle, spray skirt, pfd, pump, and paddling jacket. Great starter kit for someone getting into kayak touring.

Kapila JayaweeraThanks for the excellent comments Katie. Agreed that this course could be rougher than current course. I think this white water course is good for those who have done current course or similar training and wanted move to next level.
