A co-leader has been found for this trip, so the overall participants is now increased to 8. There are now 3 spaces available for additional paddlers.
If you have any questions, please contact Philip Kubik and/or Kapila Jayaweera.
Allan EdwinMany of you know about the BC Marine Trails Network Association and their mission to create a network of marine trails on our coast. The work to complete this vision, preserving public access to public sites for paddlers and small boats from Victoria to the Alaska border, includes 11 paddling clubs (including SKABC), First Nations, industry groups, and multiple levels of government.
The BCMT organization is now poised to move to a new level of activity in 2020. Volunteers with IT skills are now needed to help roll out new digital tools. If you have web skills (experience with Joomla! CMS would be great), you are needed sooner than later.
We have lined up a couple of team leads for the IT group. If you have worked with Content Management Systems, but not Joomla!, we can train you.
If you want to volunteer with BC Marine Trails, whether you have IT skills or not, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator karen@bcmarinetrails.org. She will be glad to help you find a role that suits you.
Cheers!
Allan
Wayne GoochWhat size and model is your dry suit? Was the repair work done by Kokatak?
Ted Shumaker- Kokatat dry suit about 6 years old, new rubbers neck and wrist, one piece, yellow. I am 5’11” 180 lbs, no leaks. Not sure what a fair price should be. Has the hood and peak. ted in Penticton 250-488-9905 tedkatie42@gmail.com

September 13, 2019 at 7:56 pm in reply to: Short Notice Paddles. Personal trips not officially sponsored by SKABC #17677Martin FeuchtwangerNeed kayak rolling practice? Want to learn from others? Willing to help others?
There are already going to be some whitewater boaters doing the same at Kits Dog Beach (Hadden Park) on Monday 16 Sept at 6pm. I plan to be there at 5pm.
Allan EdwinTo accommodate the interest in these events, the number of participants is increased to 15. Saturday is coming quickly, so please get registered and don’t miss out!
Allan EdwinAttention wait-listers: I am going to increase the number of paddlers for this trip to 40. Those of you who have asked to be wait listed, please go and register ASAP.
We are going to hold the trip to 40, so this is really your last chance to sign up for this trip.
Next step will be to confirm who our safety paddlers will be. With such a large group, we have divide up the crowd into smaller pods each with designated safety paddlers. Some of you have already volunteered to lead a pod or be s safety paddler. I will be in touch with you by email.
Those of you interested in camping for the weekend, please contact me by email.
Really starting to get excited about this trip!
Allan EdwinBump! Hey, the forecast for the weekend may be wet, but it’s still warm and we’ve been having some sunny periods too. Looks like it’s just Cam and me for now. Would love to have some more paddlers with us to “inspect” the Howe Sound sites!
Cynthia MateriHi Allen,
Quirine has offered me a ride so I am good. Will be available to help lead and will go to the Inn afterwards as I believe Quirine has said she is going too.
thanks,
Cynthia
Cameron RedenbachI’m definitely interested
September 10, 2019 at 12:50 pm in reply to: Short Notice Paddles. Personal trips not officially sponsored by SKABC #17669Allan EdwinI have been looking at the forecast for this coming weekend. It’s going to be wet, but warm .. ish. The winds on Howe Sound look to be light as well.
It feels like a great opportunity for a tour of Howe Sound with multiple options if a shuttle can be set up: Squamish, Tantalus, Zorro, Islet View, Porteau Cove (or reverse).
Or an out and back from Porteau Cove to any of Zorro Bay, Islet View, or Thornbrough.
Any takers?
Tom RichardsHi,
Is your Riot Edge kayak still for sale and are you still planning a trip to Vancouver Island? I am still interested in buying the kayak.
Thanks,
Delwyn Smith
Ansley EvansAnsley Evans – Please add me to wait list, and would be in for Sasquatch Inn.
