I now have the correct parts so I’m going (again) to connect and test the stove pipe. There is room for another member in the little boat. All-day trip: bring lunch, pfd and rain gear, but the weather looks ok.

There are misc jobs that can be done. Hoping to have it shipshape for this weekend’s trip!

In the coming weeks, BC Parks want to move the platform and toilet materials (mostly bought for them by SKABC with their grant $) from N Van to Apodaca, probably in 3 loads. They already took one load over in March.

Our volunteer help will be needed, but it might be at short notice, because this task is weather dependent and subject to other park priorities and staffing.

The work is loading/unloading 12′ 2×6 and 4×6 lumber, some concrete blocks and other heavy materials. Locations: N Van works yard, Cates Park boat ramp, Apodaca Park. Then, these same items might need to be carried from the shore up the access trail to the job site, but that might be a separate day’s work.  Each trip will take half to one full day. Deluxe boat transport  provided!

If you will be able to help between now and 15 June please let me know.  Their summer staff start 1 June so that is the likeliest start. Unfortunately, I’m scheduled to be away then. Nick H (treasurer2 at skabc.org).

This Ladies Large Meridian Kokatak dry suit is 6 years old and has been well cared for. New the drysuit was $1300.

Neck and both wrist gaskets have been replaced in the last month. I have never had ANY leakage problems. Need to sell as the size is now too large for me.

I am charging $600 including tax.

I generally wouldn’t worry too much about current. Only two spot to worry about:

1. The Skookumchuck Narrows.  People who goes there are “usually” people who do white water kayaking (different kind of kayak) playing with the strong current.  Goverment publish current info only at that narrows (Sechelt Rapids in the Tide and Current Table Volume 5 https://charts.gc.ca/publications/tables-eng.html).

2. The Tzoonie Narrows (if you paddle that far).  There are no official current info at that narrows, but some guide books do mention that the narrow section can get up to 4 knots.

Don’t know your experience level, for most people, wind is probably the major factor.  Especially at the junction where Salmon Inlet and Sechelt Inlet meet.  Water there can get more choppy when thermo winds from the two inlet meet.

Kayaking and camping all the way upto Halfway Beach campsite and a little beyond opposite  Salmon Inlet to watch the sunrise over this inlet.
