Kevin HallHi Selena, I have a 16′ Impex Montauk in Kevlar for sale if that’s of interest. Happy to arrange for you to test it out before your trip. It’s a wonderful kayak but I’m a bit too tall for it and I’ve replaced it with a kayak that fits me better.
You can reach me at programs2@skabc.org if you’d like more information.

Selena ChongLooking to rent or borrow 2 kayaks with skirts for Nootka Sound trip. We are planning on getting 2 light weight kayaks 16-17 feet length in the near future and would be nice to try them out to get a feel of the ride and fit. Thanks for considering.

Rosalind ScarnellHi Sandra,
I am interested in your Solander but wonder if you can tell me the weight. I have a fibreglass solander but would like to get a kevlar one to reduce the weight. However I suspect that a sectional boat will have added wright. My friend had a sectional fibreglass solander and it was much heavier than my regular one.
I cannot get into Facebook anymore so have not see the pictures. What colour is your boat?
I have paddled solanders for many many years and it is the boat for me! I would not buy anything else!
look forward to hearing from you.

Sandra WaddlePosting for a friend:
This beautiful and solid Kevlar nimbus solander has been an amazing ride for me, but I need to let her go. This was a specially made kayak by nimbus that can be taken apart into three pieces. I’ve never taken it apart, but if you needed to be able to do that for storage or transportation you can with this one! I paid $2,000 for it a few years ago and put $400 worth of work into it with a new seat, new deck lines, and new hatch covers. But I’m offering it for a lower price because I need a quick sale.

July 31, 2024 at 4:48 pm in reply to: Volunteer Needed – Big Brother Big Sister Paddle – August 11, 2024 #24172William SwensonAfternoon Calvin,
This is William Swenson, I recently joined the SKABC. I am interested in volunteering but am unsure if I have the right qualifications to help. I have taken SKILS Assistant Overnight Guide Course but do not have my Wilderness First Aid or VHF Radio Course yet to be fully certified. I was wondering what you are looking for out of a volunteer? I am more than happy to sign up for all 3 shifts even if it’s only helping on shore. I have my own kayak and safety gear. This will be my first time meeting with the SKABC so I’m hoping to use it as an opportunity to meet other members as well as helping out the community.

George PrevostHi Jennifer. I have friends who own and run Strathcona Park Lodge Outdoor Education Centre on Vancouver Island. They have three Nootkas already and are somewhat interested in adding another to their fleet. They’d like me to have a look at the one you’re selling if that’s possible. It would be great if you could contact me by email at georgepr@telus.net so we can figure out how to have a viewing, etc.
