I notice someone selling this Werner Cyprus paddle 210cm bend shaft and Werner Kalliste paddle straight shaft at 220 cm length for a great price.
Thought to post this if somewhat looking for Werner paddles.
Check the Facebook marketplace posting.
Jody BakerAn inexpensive water option is to get 5L wine bags at the winemaking supply store or Amazon. Pair that with cheap canvas shopping bags with a hole cut in the corner for the spigot. Hang them in a tree. Never had taste issues. Costs about $10-12 each.
Sue JohnsonVancouver-based orca influencer will hold a screening of ‘FREE WILLY‘ to raise funds to replace Telegraph Cove’s Whale Interpretive Centre.
Telegraph Cove, on Vancouver Island’s northeastern coast, was devastated by fire December 31/24. Among the structures lost was the Whale Interpretive Centre, a museum dedicated to whales living off B.C.’s coast. The centre housed a large collection of whale skeletons, including a 20-meter fin whale. See link below.
Over $137,000 has already been raised, but the goal is to raise $1,000,000 to rebuild at the site.
Vancouver’s Fred DeNisco, ‘The Orca Man’, has organized an event at 1:30 pm Sunday, July 20 at the Hollywood Theatre, 3123 W Broadway, to help the small town’s goal. DeNisco will also talk about the film and host a panel.
$35 plus fees. I bought my ticket yesterday and hope to see some club members there!
Devi DesabhatlaHi
I live in Gibsons and paddle mostly at Port Mellon ( launch from Dunham Road end) or Sechelt Inlet ( launch at Porpoise Bay Campground).
Sure, I would be interested.
Cheers
Roberto DominguezWife says I have too many kayaks, so I am selling my first one: a 2021 Delta 15.5 GT with rudder.
The Delta 15.5 GT is a great boat for beginner and intermediate paddlers. It’s very stable and it has lots of storage space. Very comfy and adjustable seat.
A lovely boat, I used it only two seasons for day paddles. Very well kept, cleaned after on every paddle and stored indoors.
$1500, includes a hatch cover, skirt and North Water paddle scabbard.
Drop me a message at kayak.inyk7@passmail.net if you are interested.
Roberto

Roberto DominguezI’ve spent a lot of time in the water the last two months, and in between trips, I discovered this video which has made a huge difference in my technique:
I realized I was just doing torso rotation… as it turns out, my hips can actually move! (yup, I am a terrible dancer). Just this realization has made a big difference in my strokes.
I also realized that in my attempt to have the right bracing position I was definitely having my foot pegs way to close, giving me no room at all for any hip movement. This other video also talks about it:
This one is a little bit preachy towards Greenland paddle, but it makes very good points 😉
Anyway, I just wanted to share.
Roberto
Edit: Fixed typos

Come help remove invasive plant species at Iona Beach Regional Park!
Located where the Fraser River meets the Pacific Ocean, Iona Beach Regional Park is known for its unique sand dune ecosystem. It is home to a rare community of sand dune plants and sits amid the Pacific Flyway – making it important habitat for over 300 species of migrating birds, as well as its year-round inhabitants.
Join us as we continue to remove invasive plants, specifically Scotch broom, in a long-term effort to restore this valuable beach ecosystem!
Where: Iona Beach Regional Park – Meet near the Iona Beach Public Washrooms. https://maps.app.goo.gl/qpDcyB1BYe55r1eK6
What: Invasive plant removal (Scotch broom)
When: July 17th, 2025
Time: 12:30-2:30 PM
We will provide you with all the information and tools needed for the work we will be doing. This includes eye protection and gloves, although if people prefer to use their own gloves they are welcome to do so. Please arrive dressed for the weather (rain or shine), in clothing that can get dirty, with appropriate footwear. Please bring water bottles and a snack if you tend to get hungry while working. We will provide light snacks and there is a water fountain nearby for refilling water bottles.
A few things to note about the site:
• There is free parking on-site.
• There is a hose near the washrooms for washing sand off.
• The site is in a public area, be mindful or sharp or hazardous litter.
• This site is exposed, sunscreen and hats are recommended if it is a clear day.
• There is a washroom at our meeting place. The worksite is adjacent to the washroom building.
• There is construction taking place along the entrance road to the park, expect short delays due to traffic control.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns leading up to the event.
I will send a follow up email similar to this the week before the event.
Best regards,
Lachlan McKinnon (he/him/his)
