Learn about the Átl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and how it came to be. They will also speak to the special features of the area and what it means to be a UNESCO designated site, the objectives, programs and partnerships. They'll also talk about collaboration and ways to support the biosphere. Tune in early at 7pm to join a discussion with club President George Prevost about good group participation in kayaking. Paddling Desolation Sound Without Crowds?
By Bob Salo There are many good reasons to paddle in Desolation Sound – warm water, close to Vancouver, sunny weather, spectacular scenery……… However, for all those reasons the area can be very busy with kayakers and boaters.
