Hate to give up this spacious tent with 2 vestibules, a “front door awning” and more.  It has a fitted tarp for under the footprint, no “see-um” mesh on each door, and tent fly to cover vestibules on 2 sides and a “canopy” to create a small “veranda” at the larger vestibule.   It has been on many kayak trips over the years and protected gear stored outside the tent. Still in good condition and I  have the instructions. Tent fly may need water proofing/seam seals.   Pickup required in Lower Lonsdale, N Vancouver. Hi Nick!  I could come along for this.  I have a 14′ solo canoe that I could bring along too (or I could go in a 2-person one if Metro Van Parks has ’em, provided the seats are comfy :).  Would waders be useful for hopping in and out of boats?

Not at this time.  Thank you.  I just broke down and bought a TideRace Xcite (that in addition to my trusty old NDK Explorer).  Then found a great deal on a Hatteras.  I really can’t afford yet another boat right now, but this Hatteras had me wondering if it might be worth going without eating for a few weeks 😁.

Hi Richard.  I haven’t paddled a Hatteras but I have a friend who has an Impex Outer Island that she might be willing to sell for a very reasonable price.  (She’s no longer paddling and doesn’t have space to store it.)  Would you be interested?

I have used it and it works well, but I don’t recommend it. The problem comes when you try to remove it for a permanent repair. Instead, I recommend Crystal Clear Gorilla Tape for temporary repairs.

I may be the only person who didn’t know about this stuff but I thought I would share anyway.

We had a significant leak at the seam line on one of our boats and didn’t have time to get it repaired. We ended up using this product from Gorilla tape.

Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Tape Black

It’s waterproof and sticks to almost anything. They claim it can even be applied under water but we didn’t test that. It survived a weekend surf course and a 7 day trip so far with no leaks or delamination.

Obviously this isn’t for structural repairs but I will definitely be adding it to my repair kit.
