My friend has just posted her Nimbus Telkwa for sale on Craigslist. It’s a great boat, but it is just too big for her.
You can find the posting here:

Calvin SamSKABC will once again participate in Western Canoe & Kayak’s Paddle Expo to be on Sunday April 28th out on Cultas Lake. Paddle Expo runs from 1000h to 1500h.
I am looking for some talented volunteers that can showcase something that is of interest to Paddlers that can be demonstrated either on land or on water. Volunteer for only a couple of hours or the whole day. Examples of some activities such as; packing a kayak for a multi-day trip, knot tying, trip planning, etc.
If you can volunteer, please contact Calvin Sam outreach@skabc.org 604.561.7629
Thank you

Nicholas HeathThank you to the 3 wonderful members who have offered to help. We’ll go Wednesday for just the day. I don’t need/can’t take any more helpers. Don’t worry, there will be other equally wonderful opportunities! Thanks again!

Hike 3 km up to “Widgeon” Falls …
April 22, 2019 at 12:17 pm in reply to: Short Notice Paddles. Personal trips not officially sponsored by SKABC #17072Theresa DaviesThis is a fun, relaxed, day in Pinecone-burke Provincial Park. Depart from the dock in your kayak and paddle north, across Pitt Lake/ Grant Narrows and up Widgeon slough to beach campsite. Hike 3 km up to Widgeon Falls and kayak back. Takes about 5-6 hours total.
Expect an easy pace that allows for full enjoyment of nature along the way, a stop at the falls for a lunch break, and optional exploration of the right arm leading from the slough.
Meet at the boat launch at Grant Narrows at 10 am, Friday, April 26. Bring lunch and snacks.

Personal trips not officially sponsored by SKABC #17071Nick HeathWed and/or Thu this week (24/25 April) I plan to take the skiff to Zorro Bay to build a tent platform. I could use some help and if there is more than one offer, there is plenty of other work to continue such as clearing and burning brush clippings and site levelling. Depending on response, this could be a day trip or overnight trip. We’ll also be hauling more building materials to the site, so there will be some heavy lifting – be warned! If interested, pl email Nick H (treasurer2 at skabc dot org).
Sarka LhotakYakima roof rack Q towers with Q clips (one pair Q34, one Q131 clips), was on 2009 Nissan Versa. Q towers are universal, Q clips are specific for each car. To check if my clips would work on your car, or to get different Q clips, see here: https://yakimasupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115006474367-How-do-I-know-what-Q-Clip-I-need-
Q towers are no longer made, were replaced by Baseline towers with their specific clips. New, those would cost you $279. for towers, plus $150. for clips.
Daniel Del VecchioThe SS just a nurse after all not $$ enough for the titanium😊.
Nick HeathI’m pleased with the small titanium knife I bought I think from Northwest River Supplies mail order – clearance on sale etc. I’m a frequent flusher of salt water but I ‘ve had stainless steel knives rust on me. This one is light. sharp and has a v good grip release which means it never falls out to dangle precariously at the worst of moments. I don’t recall the model and it has likely been replaced already because no-one wants to sell the same (perfectly good) model year after year, do they? That’s would be bad for sales!
Yekaterina YushmanovaDaniel, are you using titanium or SS?
Daniel Del VecchioSo far so good for this one( there also a small version):
Yekaterina YushmanovaDo you have a favourite kayaking knife that has served you well for several years? Please share the make and model.
Looking for something that will go on a pfd and won’t succumb to salt water with reasonable care.
Thank you!

Jayne HardyI am also interested in carpooling. I live in Southeast Vancouver and I will be doing the Cates park to Twin Islands paddle.
