Hi All, the Comox Paddlers Club have invited SKABC to join their Zoom presentations on Thursday, March 3rd at 7pm.

They’ll have a short presentation from Nootka Marine Adventures at the start followed by a feature presentation by Paul Grey, president of BC Marine Trails. Here’s a bit more information and the Zoom link is at the bottom if you’re able to attend:

Paul will present the three pillars of BC Marine Trails: 1st Nation’s Engagement, Development of Safe Marine Trails, and Stewardship. Learn about significant developments and benefits of membership as well as volunteer opportunities. From 2018 – 2020 the BCMT established a new database to overview not only the map and sites, but to track and record operations. BCMT is in the process of developing a succinct Environmental Care Program and a First Nations Engagement strategy.

Cameron, thank you, you’re totally right but what to do if you got a 14′ monster(mine) that is not suitable for average racks and tight storages…  Still keeping it under a good neighbor’s deck…

Hello all, we’ve been invited to attend the February club meeting for the Oregon Ocean Paddling Society (OOPS). Here’s a link to OOPS webpage announcement.

The topic is “Better Kayaking Photography Made Simple (Sort of)” presented by wilderness photographer, Neil Shulman.

OOPS meetings are open to members and invited guests only. To get a link to the Zoom meeting you’ll need to email programs@oopskayak.org and they’ll register you and send you the information one or two days before the event.

It looks to be an interesting and informative presentation.

    Thanks

If it is calm, I would like to paddle across to Siwash Rock and along the beaches in Stanley Park to English Bay then back along the waterfront to the sailing center.  I think it is about 9 knots.  Should be on the water ~3 hours.  Total trip time ~4 hours with a stop for lunch.  I would like to meet at ~8:30 and be on the water between 9:00 and 9:30 am.
