Member Responsibilities Statement
SKABC offers training and other opportunities to members to assist members to develop paddling and related skills. SKABC coordinates opportunities for day trips and multi-day trips for members. While policies, procedures and materials have been developed to support these activities, all activities are led by and/or organized by volunteers. Accordingly, SKABC members have a responsibility to be aware of SKABC policies and procedures; to comply with the policies and procedures; and prior to participating in an activity, to ensure that they have the skills, health, ability and equipment required to participate in the activity.
I acknowledge that SKABC activities are led and coordinated by volunteers and that as a member of SKABC, it is my responsibility to ensure I have the skills, health, ability and equipment required to participate in the SKABC activities I attend and to comply with the applicable policies and procedures to help ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
SKABC posts photographs of some of its events on its website and on SKABC social media accounts in order to inform members of its activities and to promote its activities to the general public. Posted photographs may show identifiable images of participants. If a member participating in a SKABC activity does not wish to have photographs of themself or a minor family member displayed on the SKABC website or SKABC social media accounts, it is the member's responsibility to inform the event organizer, e.g., course instructor, trip leader, or social event organizer, at the start of the event.
I acknowledge that when participating in any SKABC activity it is my responsibility to inform my fellow participants if I do not wish to have images or video footage of myself or a minor family member shared on the SKABC website, in the SKABC newsletter, or on social media.
I recognize that some club members may ask that images and video footage of themselves or their minor children not be shared on the SKABC website, in the SKABC newsletter, or on social media and, if so, I agree to respect their wishes in this matter.
