I have a well-used and well-loved MSR Hubba Hubba 2-person tent that I have replaced with something newer and fancier.  Rather than throw away the old tent, I’d prefer to see it go to some use so I’m offering it free.  It is still functional – it kept me dry the last time I used it – but may need some seam sealing. etc. sometime in the near future.   It comes complete with fly, inner, pole set and footprint.  The footprint was seldom used and is in very good shape and might be of interest even if the rest of the tent is not.

If no one shows interest in the whole package, I’m willing to pass on just the footprint and/or the pole set, which could be used for spare parts for a similar tent.

Join this leisurely Oct 11th day paddle.  Sign ups open Sept 1.  Enjoy seeing spawning salmon, bald eagles and First Nations pictographs while floating down the Harrison River.  Be in wilderness without stress.  And we end off the day with an après-paddle at the Sasquatch Inn Pub. This is an easy trip so just wet exit and forward and stopping paddle skills required. This is always a favourite. Sigh up soon.

I am taking whitewater refresher with Purple Hays Kayaking this Sep 14th. I did their introductory courses this spring, it was awesome. They still have two spots available for Sep13-14th session if anyone interested.
This is not for beginners for sure. If you have good boat handling skills, edging bracing etc, that should work. Nice to be able to role but it is not necessary.

They provide all the gears so just needs to show up.

I am planning to do rolling practice at Sasamat Lake tomorrow morning (Aug 26th).

Meet up White Pine parking lot F at 9am, then get ready and be in the water 9.30am to 10am. Practice till 12pm the most.

If anyone like practice rolling please come and join with me. Also if anyone wanted to do self/assisted rescue practice, you are welcome to join.

Water is warm so you may getaways without dry or wetsuit depending the tolerance level.

Nice to have nose plugs, ear plugs and goggles for those who are learning to role.

Kayak cart would be helpful to carry boats if available.

I may go Wednesday 27th and possible 28th as well if that works for me.

Ok here is finally the reply from Bc Ferries re butane containing canisters/propane canister. Still no clear understanding  because canister denied on vessel I was UN 2037

BC Ferries is expected to follow the regulations in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act & Regulations and the Canada Shipping Act &Dangerous Good Shipping Regulations.

The cover page does state that Butane is prohibited as per below. When carrying butane, you must declare any amount to our terminal staff upon arrival.

 

One cannister of Propane is currently allowed per standard vehicle up to 1.89L. We are revisiting the possibility of smaller cannisters for camping that are now readily sold at most hardware stores.
