Hi. Brand new SKABC member seeking info for a three night trip, potentially launching from Mount Gardner Govt Dock on Bowen, paddling up the west coast of Gambier, around the north end to either Thornborough Point or Douglas Bay and back to Bowen. We don’t know if there is camping on west side of Gambier so any info from experienced paddlers welcome. Thanks!

Bain Creek Campsite on “main land”.

Not exactly on West Gambier, but about 3.6 kms  west north west from Gambier’s  Ekins Point.

I go there regularly, launching from Port Mellon.

    Cheers

Hi Sand, I’ve paddled and camped on the west side of Gambier and have a few things to suggest. I think it’d be easier over the phone than typing it all down. If you want to call me, my number is 604-434-2294.
