    Dear SKABC Members,

As you are probably aware, we’re battling forum spam. The person posting is not a member of SKABC but was somehow able to post without authorization. This has been discussed by the club executive. Today, an additional anti-spam setting was activated on the forum. Hopefully this will stop the problem but still allow the forums to be user-friendly. If you notice any differences please let me know.  If we continue having this issue we can go to a moderated forum where each post is approved by an admin.

    Thanks for your patience.

On the one hand it’s good to have new Canadians take an interest in the outdoors, but they need to do it in the language of the country and it’s good practice for them. I’ve no idea what all those Chinese characters meant, but for many years Rupert Wong from Hong Kong ran an excellent sea kayaking camp on an island off Kyuquot which was heavily patronised by kayakers from back east. He had a degree in marine biology and lots of zodiacs to explore the coast with for those who didn’t want to paddle. His camp was most luxurious. His company, West Coast Expeditions, is still operating.  More power to it.
