    Monday, Thanksgiving Day, tomorrow,  14 Oct

    Conditions look ok for a day visit to continue our work. Starting in my open power boat from Porteau Cv 08:30.  Back to Porteau by 17:00.  Might be wet. PFD, warm old clothes, gloves, lunch required. Variety of tasks available. So far, just Darlene and Nick going. Can take 2 more. Pl let Nick know if you are coming – otherwise no need to respond. Thx!

    My boat is full on Friday 1 Nov but I have room for 2 more on Sat 2 Nov. Start is 08:00 at Porteau Cove ramp or earlier if we meet en route. If you can come, pl let me know – Nick.

    I’m planning  to head out with my boat on Sunday, then again on Monday.  Tuesday is also possible. I’m not planning on overnight stays. Likely daily start is 08:30 at Porteau Cove ramp.

    The fun part of the build is starting – putting up the frame – walls, roof and siding.

    Hopefully I’ll have 2 or 3 helpers each day.

    Last Saturday, Cam Redenbach and I spent a good day completing the wire mesh rodent shield under the floor.

    Call for volunteers for tomorrow Sat 19 th Oct. Likely start 08:30 Porteau Cove. Pickup en route possible.

    Conditions are predicted to be wet, but not quite the deluge of the past few days.

    Last Monday (Thanksgiving) we had a full crew of 4 working on the soakaway pit and filled it with gravel, putting up a big tap. moving most materials up to the site from the camp area and cutting and installing wire mesh under the floor to keep animals out. We’ll finish the wire work next and then put in the floor. After that, we can start to add walls and eventually we’ll have a building of sorts. Lots of experience and enthusiasm in Monday’s crew – Cynthia Kennedy, Kevin Hall, Steve Best and me. Thank you, all!

    No work party on Sunday – Conservation trip instead!

    Next week there won’t be another work party until maybe Thu or Fri.
