The Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills course will give you the skills and knowledge to move you beyond flat water to slightly rougher water. There is a strong focus on re-entry techniques and the skills required to safely plan and execute a day trip.

Join Susan and Richard Jensen to learn how to set and retrieve crab traps from a kayak. Will include a 2 hour paddle while the crab pots are soaking.

In June we welcome Courtney Smaha and Sophie Cheshire who are assisting Ruth Simons, Lead of the Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society responsible for the Átl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Learn about the Átl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and how it came to be. They will also speak to the special features of the area and what it means to be a UNESCO designated site, the objectives, programs and partnerships. They'll also talk about collaboration and ways to support the biosphere. Tune in early at 7pm to join a discussion with club President George Prevost about good group participation in kayaking.
