Cates Park to Twin Islands (2B)

When: September 25, 2021 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

We're fully booked for this event. NEW: scroll down to see if a waitlist spot is available. Note that we may be able to add space depending on interest.

Join us for the Fall Fling! Our group will launch at Cates Park and paddle to Twin Islands beach for lunch. The paddle is 8 nautical miles round trip — about 2 hours each way.

Suitable for Intermediate Paddlers. Requirements: Ability to self-rescue, wetsuit or drysuit, spray skirt.

Launch: We will be launching from a pebble beach on the east side of the point. There is a short path to this beach starting at the parking lot near the Washrooms and Concession (Wally’s Burgers). Meet-up is 10:00 am for an 10:30 am launch.

Don’t forget to bring a sack lunch and water for the day. If it’s a warm day, you might bring a swim suit and towel. Twin Islands is a great swimming spot – warm water! In any case, do bring a set of warm, dry clothes. We’ll be meeting up with the other groups afterwards in the covered shelter in Cates Park for pizza — make sure to reserve your spot for the picnic.

Trip Leaders:  Karin Hartner

Scroll down to register. Note: other paddles to be offered that day are Jug Island, Thwaytes Landing and a wildlife viewing paddle.
