This is a sample posting about my trip to Shangrila Cove on April 1st.  We will launch from Serene Beach, where there is plenty of free parking, nice washrooms and cheap kayak rentals.  The trip will be about 8 nautical miles total and should take 4 hours of relaxed paddling time plus breaks.  This is a protected area and is suitable for beginners who have had a wet exit practice.  Bring your lunch and some snacks to share.

Cheers, and see you on the 1st, at the appointed time.  🙂

Thanks Harald — we will check it out — I wish we lived closer to downtown!

OK, this is for real.  Maybe everyone knows this already, but Maynards has some sea kayaks and gear for sale at their 2nd and Main location.  The kayaks are from Impex – I just glanced at them but they seem to be mostly lower volume fiberglass boats.  Nice lines & attractive.  Also there is a motley collection of sprayskirts, paddles etc.  Worth a quick visit if you are in the area.
