To continue trail clearing and marking jobs started recently at Simson Prov Park I plan to make 2 consecutive day visits some time in the week 15-18 Oct, immediately after Thanksgiving. I’d plan to take an early ferry, then paddle over to S Thormanby, work, then return to car camp at Porpoise Bay (Sechelt). Then I’d paddle back to S Thormanby the next day, and head for home after working. Working with saws etc. Short paddle each way.  Possibly I could take my power boat instead, but probably not worthwhile.

Pl let me know if interested. Dates might be ‘fluid’ because of weather. Nick H treasurer2(at)skabc(dot)org

Here’s a brief update. I’m going to Simson tomorrow to accompany the Park Ranger to view the walking trails and the super work done earlier by SKABC and HBCA volunteers. There were offers of assistance for this and other adjacent days from a number of HBCA members but the forecast of very wet weather induced me to postpone this work. I’ll try to pick another time to finish the trail work.

Hi, Nick. Would have volunteered to help you and also would have offered you a place to stay. Unfortunately we moved from Halfmoon Bay (Sunshine Coast) to Vancouver Island this summer. Thanks for all the work you are doing there on Thormanby. Susie
