To finish posting trail signs at Simson (Cynthia K and I started this past weekend and we did about half of them) I’m seeking a buddy or buddies who will either carry the light short ladder or a 10 kg pack and be prepared to walk about 8 km each day. It is easy work along quiet forest trails. Travel options are to kayak to S Thormanby I from Brooks Cv or to take my small power boat over from Coopers Green. Both routes are short. Camp 1 or 2 nights – more likely 2 nights if kayak transport is used. Camp at one or two of the main sites – Farm Bay, Pebbly Bch and Drift Bay. The ladder and signs are already on the island and can be left behind for later pickup when finished. My preferred timing/dates are within next 2 weeks and in decent weather – no high SE winds. Earliest for me would be this coming Thu.

I could do this alone, but there are valid safety reasons for a 2 (+) person crew and I’d prefer company, too!

A kind members has offered to accompany me and we made our arrangements for a visit by kayak 20 – 22 June, but if additional members wish to come, that would be good, except that the ferry is already full for overheight vehicles on the early Sat sailing.
