    Hello, my name is Alex Laviolette, and I’m a grade 12 student at Howe Sound Secondary, and the Events Coordinator for My Sea to Sky this summer.

    I am really excited to let you know that we are hosting an #OrcaCelebration on Sunday 29th September, 2019. After last year’s event was cancelled due to rain, we made this year’s event waterproof. How? We’re going to create an orca out of people holding umbrellas!

    After nearly a century the orcas have returned to Howe Sound, and we think that’s worth celebrating. It’s a sign that Howe Sound is coming back to life, and all our efforts are having a major impact.

    You can bring your own black, white, or blue umbrella for free, or support My Sea to Sky by purchasing a #ProtectHoweSound umbrella in black, white, or teal for $25.

    IMPORTANT! You need to order your #ProtectHoweSound umbrella before 4th September. We need everyone to RSVP so we can plan this action.

    Howe Sound is a treasure in our backyard that needs to be protected. Join us in this fun, family-friendly event which will be captured by drone to create a cool video starring you!

    Join us afterwards for a community picnic from 5pm to 9pm at Junction Park/O’Siyam Pavilion, with food trucks, live music, kid zone, facepainting, yoga, booze garden, silent auction, cool prizes, and the premiere of our Heart of Howe Sound videos.
