Looking for a light weight touring kayak that can hold supplies for a week.  Is anyone familiar with Zegul kayaks or the Current Design Prana?  Thanks.

Have you looked at the Atlantis kayaks – along with Nimbus – one of the few local builders left. Titan (rudder) and Spartan (skeg) kevlar versions are a manageable weight. He also offers a lower cockpit version for smaller paddlers.  We have both at Club Locarno if you want to take a look. Mark

    Hi Selena,

Zegul and most Brit/ European kayaks are not that light.

A Nimbus Solander Plus in Kevlar (new or gently used) would be more what you are looking for.

    Cheers, Peter

Many years ago I would paddle a Prana at Jericho Kayaks (Ecomarine). They may still have one to rent or it maybe at Deep Cove to rent. See if you could rent it or find a retailer who may sell them to try them or go to a Demo Day.
