The annotation says “stony shore, shingly shore”. My bet with the larger cels on your chart, it’s boulders, not merely stones or cobbles.

Yes I agree – a rock reef or shelf at around chart datum depth.

I think this is just rocks. Look at the rocks to the right on the chart and imagine the line close and closed up. I first saw this (with confusion) in False Narrows. I know that False Narrows has a narrow band of rocks through the middle. See if this makes sense.
