Cynthia Kennedy and I am organizing a trip to Gulf Islands between July 22nd to 30th, we have 2 spots available if anyone interested.

This is a 3C level trip, paddlers should be able to perform self and assisted rescue comfortably. Also able to paddle up to 15Nm distances with possible moderate wind and current conditions.

Route option 1:-
Start from Montague Harbor, Paddle to Wallace (Cabin Bay or Conover Cove) and camp
Paddle to Musgrave (15Nm from Cabin Bay) and camp
Paddle to Ruckle Park, camp
Paddle to James Bay (Prevost) back to Montague Harbor.
Total about 50Nm

Option 2 If option 1 is not viable due to wind/current conditions:-
Start Montague Harbor, paddled to Wallace (Cabin Bay or Conover Cove) and camp
Paddled to Ruckle Park and camp
Paddle to James Bay (Prevost) and camp
Paddle back to Montague Harbor.
Total about 35Nm

Good route – like the same we tried in 2025. Hope the wind is more co-operative this year! In Fall I partly checked some pinch overnight sites near Osborne Bay, Maple Bay, Crofton, Bader’s Bch in case the Narrows are in flood by the time you reach them.

btw That trip classification has become somehow un-formatted and no longer makes sense…
