November meeting: The Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue (RCMSAR)

Annual General Meeting. Club Elections and Reports followed by guest speaker Paul DeGrace.

Guest speaker: Paul DeGrace: Search and Rescue Crew Member and Media Liasion and Community Events Officer from RCMSAR Station #2 in North Vancouver.

RCMSAR is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that operates more than 40 marine rescue stations on the BC coast and in the BC Interior.  From Vancouver’s busy harbour to the remote waters of the North Coast, their volunteer crews are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to respond to marine emergencies.

rcmsar-rescue-nov-1-2016Paul will be giving a presentation on RCMSAR, who they are, what they do, and how they can help you remain safe and alive while on the water.

RCMSAR a key part of the marine search and rescue system, and they work in one of the most challenging search and rescue regions in the world.  Their volunteers handle more than 800 marine emergencies every year, and they work in collaboration with the Coast Guard, Military, Police as well as other marine and ground SAR organizations.
