The coast and the people of the sea: Intertidal archaeology for sea kayakers

When: March 2, 2020 from 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM



Guest speaker and SKABC member Brian Pegg from Kwantlen Polytechnic University will take the club on a tour of different types of archaeological sites that may be found in the intertidal zone of our ancient sea coast, including 13,000 year old footprints, intact baskets, clam gardens, and fish traps. He will talk about conservation and low-impact use of this important zone, as well as the relationships between modern indigenous people and the sites left by their ancestors.

Doors open at 7pm, meeting starts at 7:30. Light refreshments served – members please bring your own mug. Public welcome!
