In February 2022, Benjamin and Katya embarked on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to the Antarctic Peninsula, crossing the infamous Drake Passage aboard the sailing yacht “Spirit of Sydney”. Over the next three weeks, they explored the mesmerizing landscapes of Antarctica by kayak. Their remarkable adventure has been beautifully captured in “Edge of the Human World,” an official selection at the 2023 Dana Point Film Festival. The film immerses you in the surreal experience of a place where the troubles of the human world feel both distant and strikingly real.Meet the Filmmakers:
Benjamin Walsh, a poet and filmmaker from Vancouver, BC, finds his greatest inspiration while sitting in a kayak.
Katya Yushmanova, a painter and landscape architect based in Vancouver, is driven by her passion for adventure, leading her to explore the Pacific Northwest through hiking, sailing, and kayaking.Event Details:
