Weekend Trip to the Thormanby Islands TRIP FULL
September 5th, catching the 9:25am ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale (strongly recommend making a ferry reservation).
Return September 7th catching the 2:45pm ferry from Langdale (strongly recommend making a ferry reservation).
Trip details:
Paid parking for cars at Buccaneer Marina and there is a kayak launching fee to use their boat ramp.
Launch from Buccaneer Marina located in Secret Cove’s north east arm, paddle along the shoreline into Smugglers Cove Marine Park then cross Welcome Passage to South Thormanby Island and camp on sandy spit (limited camping sites). Next day we can paddle exploring North Thormanby Island.
Crossing Welcome Passage requires some caution due to high pleasure boat traffic and winds and current can make waters rough.
There will be room for 4 people with the total group size limited to 6. A pre-trip paddle and planning meeting are required.
