Two great events – a paddle on English Bay/False Creek and a Social / Dinner – to help reconnect with your new and old SKABC friends and find out who’s doing what and where this summer. Attend one or both; RSVP details below.
May 4 Spring Fling Paddle (Saturday morning) :
- WHERE : launch from former Kitsilano Coast Guard station , 1655 Whyte Ave, Vancouver (beside Burrard Civic Marina); paddle route tbd based on experience levels
- WHEN : Saturday, May 4, meet at 10:30 a.m., launch at 11:00 a.m.
- RSVP for paddle via email to lesliehansen@shaw.ca ; indicate your skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) so we can plan our groupings as necessary.
*New members and prospective members – let us know who you are so we can get you lined up with a current member.
*Kayak and gear rentals available from MEC on Broadway or EcoMarine on Granville Island (call ahead)
Required: all mandatory safety gear, immersion protection (wetsuit or drysuit) highly recommended, the water is still cold.
May 4 Spring Fling Social and dinner (Saturday afternoon ):
- Time: 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm SKABC supplied menu with a cash bar. Sorry no outside alcohol.
- PRIZES to be given out!! courtesy of our beloved Safety Bob
- Location: Billy Bishop Legion, 1407 Laburnum St, Vancouver (just north of Cornwall and Laburnum). We’ll be on the on outdoor patio, weather permitting
- Parking is most likely to be available along Cornwall or Maple or on Arbutus and Cornwall at the tennis courts
