Fall Fling: Cates Park to Thwaytes Landing (12 NM) Landing 2C

When: October 3, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM



Join Quirine and Ken for the annual Fall Fling paddle! This group will launch at Cates Park and paddle to Thwaytes Landing for lunch. The paddle is approximately 12 nautical miles round trip — about 3 hours each way

Suitable for Intermediate Paddlers. Requirements: Ability to self-rescue, wetsuit or drysuit, spray skirt, and Transport Canada requirements (pfd, whistle, throw bag and bailing device).

Leadership Style: Paddlers are expected to stay together in a group (within sight and hearing distance) while on the water.

Launch: We will be launching from a pebble beach on the east side of the point. There is a short path to this beach. Meet at the parking lot near the washrooms and concession (Wally’s Burgers).

Launch time: We will meet at 8:15am in the parking lot opposite the concession for a 9:00 am launch.

After party: After the paddle, please join us at the Good Co Northwoods, for social dinner. Make sure you reserve your spot.
