Pool Rescue Practice

When: May 24, 2019 from 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Lord Byng pool in Vancouver has kayak drop-in on Friday nights from 08:00pm to 09:00pm, when anyone is welcome to go in and practice their kayak skills.  Some SKABC members are happy to assist other members practice their rescue skills.  Members attending these sessions should already possess some rescue skills because this is a practice rather than a course.  To that end, we ask that you express your interest by signing up here with the understanding that:

  • There is no way to reserve a place at the pool ahead of time, there are only 12 openings and it is first come, first served.  Payment ($6.10 + GST $6.41) is payable at/to the pool directly.
  • Expressing your interest by signing up here, gives the SKABC Facilitator an idea of the skill levels of the participants and enables him or her to determine if a co-facilitator is required.
  • Kayaks and equipment must be thoroughly cleaned before getting in the pool.

We are posting 4 spots as we want to avoid SKABC taking over the entire pool and potentially creating conflicts.  We have no control over who shows up at the pool and we want to be respectful of other users.
