January Club Meeting – guest speaker Danielle Turner, Video Producer, Film Editor and Sound Artist

For our first meeting of the year, we welcome guest speaker Danielle Turner, Video Producer, Film Editor and Sound Artist. Danielle will present on cameras and salt water. Bring your camera! Topics she plans to cover include:

  • To video or to photo? Is one better than the other
  • How to capture that perfect shot – video and photo
  • Setting up your camera for the shot
  • Colour balancing
  • Auto or Manual?
  • Setting the frame for the perfect shot
  • Making your story – editing tools and tips (video and photo)
  • Vimeo, Facebook or YouTube? – to broadcast your video story

During her presentation, Danielle aims to demystify the manual settings and get people adjust the settings on their own cameras during the presentation if they wish.

Doors open at 7pm, meeting starts at 7:30. Light refreshments served – members please bring your own mug. Public welcome!

Guest speaker bio: Danielle has a reputation for not being your typical storyteller. She is a multi-award-winning videographer and film editor who has always believed that a successful motion picture, short or long, includes an interesting story and a great rhythm. With an effort to stay well away from common and an ability to innovate, Danielle is a proven leader in this industry; from the start of her creative visions to taking those visions to completion; She has worked on all kinds of projects from feature length documentaries, governments training videos to marketing videos for businesses. While her career has taken Danielle all over the world, she still proudly claims Vancouver as her home and as the most beautiful city she’s ever seen.
