When: April 27, 2013 until April 28, 2013 from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Beginning of the season trip up to one of the campsites at the North end of Indian Arm April 27/28. It is about a 15km trip each way but an almost guaranteed headwind on Sunday. The later you start the stronger the wind. Which campsite we end up in will depend on how many other campers we find up there – our preference is normally the camp on the west side of the arm (it is quieter) but if there are not many people at Granite Falls, we could consider camping there.
For those with their own kayaks, we recommend leaving from the park behind Grey Rocks Island off Strathcona road for ease of parking and launching. The plan is to be on the water by 9:30 AM on the 27th from this location. For those renting, it makes sense to leave from Deep Cove kayak rentals – the plan here would be to be on the water by 9:45 AM where the group from Strathcona will meet you.
