Desolation Sound Sept 20 to 24 Clasification B2/3

When: September 20, 2014 until September 24, 2014

Desolation Sound Sat 20 Sept to Wed Sept 24 2014 Group size:
Minimum 5 participants,  Maximum 8
Day 1: Leave lower mainland Saturday 20 September 9:22 am Horseshoe Bay ferry to Langdale, second ferry Earls Cove to Saltery Bay.
Camp Saturday night at Okeover Arm Provincial Park.   The park gate is closed as of 15 September but we can still walk to tent sites.  Possibly Lund for supper and fresh water Saturday night.
Day 2: Launch Sunday morning from boat launch adjacent to Okeover Provincial Park.  Paddle to Curme Islands to use as base camp.
Day 3 and Day 4 : Possible day trips include to: Tenedos Bay Kumken  and hike to Unwin fresh water lake to rinse the salt off. (only 2.3 nm from the Curme Island). Roscoe Bay also with hike to fresh water lake. ( about 3 nm from Curme Island) Paddle to Mary Islands for a lunch, Or paddle to Refuge Cove a year round community in the heart of Desolation sound and stop for ice cream and espresso at the general store.   i do not know if the cafe is open at that time of year.
Day 5 Wednesday September 24 Pack up camp and paddle back to Okeover provincial, load car and take the ferries to home. A pre-trip planning meeting in September is required.
