Belcarra Invasive Plant Removal (2A) — Cancelled

This is the 2nd of 2 planned trips.

We will paddle from Cates Park to Maple Beach near Admiralty Point to remove invasive plants. The exact location will be determined on the day by Brian Titaro(Natural Resource Management Technician) and depends on our work completed on April 24th.

This is a SKABC Conservation trip in partnership with Metro Vancouver Regional Parks and builds on our work started in 2019. We will work for about 2 hours and may paddle back on a longer route if the group wants to and weather permits.

Note that MASKS are required now for all stewardship events and must be worn wile working outside. Participants are asked to bring their own work/garden gloves please. Tools will be provided.

Bring MASK, work gloves, rain gear, work clothes, sturdy footwear, lunch/snacks, water, hand sanitizer.

There is an option to hike to Admiralty Point from the Belcarra picnic area and if that works better for you (3 km one way) please let us know at sign-up.

Potential Hazards: Hypothermia, motor boats, physical injury.

Required Paddling Skills / Gear: Wet exit, assisted rescue, immersion gear.
