Trip Description: Join Jonas and Heather for a circumnavigation of Bowen Island. Cross over to Bowen Island, paddle around Bowen and cross Howe Sound a second time to return to Batchelor Cove. This is a trip for experienced paddlers only. Participants must be comfortable paddling in strong wind, high waves and have the endurance for a challenging full-day outing. Group stays together within hearing distance.
Howe Sound is a dangerous place to paddle, subject to strong winds and high waves. Conditions can change quickly and do not always follow the official forecast. For this long day trip, there is risk for paddler exhaustion and dehydration.

Trip Distance: 19nm, 7 hours paddling, 9 hours including breaks
Launch site: Batchelor Bay, West Vancouver. On the water at 7:00 AM.
Required Clothing: Wet suit or dry suit.
What to Bring: tow rope, spare paddle, lunch, snacks and plenty of water.
Participant Responsibility: Participants must be able to paddle 19 nm in potentially challenging conditions. Successful rescue practice (self and assisted) completed within the past 12 months.
