Launch Site: Cates Park, North Vancouver. Launch from the beach south-west of the Cates Park Paddling Centre. Arrive in sufficient time to be ready to go on the water at 9:00 AM.
Trip Leader: Philip Kubik
Description: Paddle from Cates Park to Port Moody’s Tidal Park (at the head of Burrard Inlet) and back.
Required clothing: Wetsuit or drysuit; winter paddling clothing, including gloves and headwear.
What to bring: Water and food. Thermos with a warm drink recommended.
Participant responsibilities: Abide by “Your Responsibilities as a Participant” on the About our Trips page on the Trips menu.
Parking: Parking at Cates Park is free at this time of year but be sure to use a stall that permits parking all day. Some stalls are restricted to 3 h or 4 h, which are insufficient.
Registration Opens: Immediately.
Registration Closes: Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026.
