Lower Fraser River (2B), Part 2

When: March 24, 2019 from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

The second of 2 day trips to cover the lower Fraser River’s North shore.

Continuing from the last point (see Lower Fraser Part 1), taking the North Arm on an ebb tide. The paddle will make a visit to McDonald Beach, Wreck Beach briefly. After most of strong ebb has peaked, round Pt Grey and head across sandbars to land at Jericho Beach where greater depth avoids the long shoals on the Locarno beach side.

A car donor for the day will be needed. Please contact Nick (see below) to co-ordinate the shuttle.

Pre-Trip Meeting / Paddle: none

Potential Hazards: shipping, current, pilings, log booms, cold water

Required Paddling Skills / Gear: Prefer strong paddling skills, recent wet exit practice, full spray skirts, thermal protection from cold water.

Trip Leader Note: Group to be consulted on preferences. I plan to use a tandem kayak.

Trip Leader: Nick Heath
