Thormanby Islands (2B)

Departing:
Friday September 22nd, catching the 9:25am ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale

Returning:
Sunday September 24th, catching the 2:45pm (strongly recommend making ferry reservations for both sailings).

Launch Point:
Launch from Buccaneer Marina located in Secret Cove’s north east arm, paddle along the shoreline into Smugglers Cove Marine Park then cross Welcome Passage to South Thormanby Island and base camp on sandy spit (limited camping sites). Next day we can paddle exploring North Thormanby Island.

Car parking available at our put in launch spot at Buccaneer Marina for a fee as well as there is a kayak launching fee to use their boat ramp.

Paddling Notes:
Crossing Welcome Passage requires some caution due to high pleasure boat traffic, afternoon winds and current can make waters rough. You must be able to do self and assisted rescues.

Participants:
There will be room for 6 people to join co-leaders Patti Gordon and Steve Barnes, with a total group size limited to 8. A pre-trip paddle and planning meeting will be arranged and all participants are required to attend both.
