March Club Meeting: Digital Tools for Sea Kayaking

When: March 4, 2019 from 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Guest speaker: Randy Chatterjee, our past president, will share his knowledge of all things digital to help kayakers plan their trip, be safe and have fun.

Topics that will be touched on include:

• websites for weather, tides, currents, charts, and navigation planning
• phone apps with all of the same information as above
• Specialty devices: sports watches, handheld GPS, satellite tracking and signalling, and of course marine band radios (digital and analog)
• and finally, a suite of waterproof cameras to catch every moment.

The main thrust of the talk will be how to get organized quickly for any outing, gather and record information of value, and be ready for anything.

Doors open at 7:00, meeting starts at 7:30. Public welcome!
