Paddle the Deer Group May 22nd to 28th Barkley Sound West Coast Vancouver Island
Max. 6 paddlers (2B/3C)
We will carpool to Bamfield on Sunday 22 and paddle the short distance to Dianna to sleep on the island on Saturday night. Sometime during the week we will move to Ross Island and camp until Friday night, leaving a short paddle back to Bamfield on Saturday morning. (or the reverse, depending on the weather)
Expect to be on the water early each day, with a packed lunch and to return to camp late in the afternoon, paddling 12 to 15nm each day, with lots of time to play in the rocks.
Participants must be comfortable paddling in conditions generated by swell on a rocky shore, and should wear a helmet if paddling close in. All must have practiced rescues with the group before we set out.
