Organized trips, ranging in duration, skill and difficulty level, are held throughout the year. Our philosophy is we are groups of “common adventurers”. Rather than relying on the services of a guide who is the first aid person, the cook, the navigator, the weather forecaster, etc., all trip participants contribute their skills and are involved in decision making. The benefit of this active approach is an increasing skill level and better understanding and appreciation of the marine environment.
Trips offered vary each year and full details of current trips are available to SKABC members. Typical destinations during the year include:
-
Deep Cove and Indian Arm
Bowen Island
Howe Sound
False Creek
Crescent Beach
Mayne Island
Saturna Island
Nuchatlitz Inlet
Thormanby Islands
The Broken Group
Other destinations on the West Coast varying year to year.
In addition, members frequently meet other paddlers through SKABC. SKABC is a great place to upgrade your kayaking skills and to connect with other paddlers.
